SOMERVILLE, MA – The City of Somerville has released additional details about a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on November 3.
According to an official press release, the victim of the accident has been identified as 40-year-old Somerville resident Leah A. Zallman. Zallman was struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of College and Kidder Avenues. Emergency responders transported her to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she died the following day.
The driver responsible for the collision was determined to be a city employee who was on the job at the time of the crash but driving their own vehicle. The employee is on administrative leave while the police department conducts its investigation. It is unclear at this time whether any charges will be filed.
