The accident occurred on Woburn Street, near Grafton Street, at about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evening. The driver of a GMC SUV lost control of the vehicle while exiting I-495, which then collided with a utility pole and rolled over onto its roof.
The driver and a passenger were trapped within the wreckage, and were conscious when they were rescued by firefighters from the Lowell Fire Department.
The two victims, whose identities have yet to be revealed, were taken to the hospital with non-critical wounds.
The collision caused the utility pole to snap in two.
Authorities closed Woburn Street near Gaudreau for the cleanup of the accident.
