SUDBURY, MA – A worker was killed Wednesday afternoon when a tree fell onto him and crushed him, according to NBC Boston.
The accident happened outside a home on Ridge Hill Road at about 2:30 p.m. The victim, a 26-year-old man from Everett who worked for a tree removal company, was at a job site cutting down trees. A hardwood tree fell onto him and pinned him beneath its weight.
Despite a quick response time of two minutes from initial first responders, authorities said that the victim could not have survived the injuries sustained in the accident. He was taken to the hospital in Concord, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The incident is thought to be an accident, though it remains under investigation at this time.
