FALL RIVER, MA – A man was killed on I-195 Saturday evening when he was struck by a vehicle while running across the roadway.
According to NBC Boston, 47-year-old Pawtucket man Ulise M. Pena got in an unspecified altercation with the driver of the Dodge Ram in which he was a passenger. The driver pulled into the emergency lane close to exit 8, at which point Pena got out and ran across all three of the interstate’s westbound lanes. He was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado in the leftmost lane.
Police attempted to revive Pena, but pronounced him dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The 51-year-old driver of the Dodge and the 21-year-old driver of the Chevy cooperated with investigators. It is unclear whether any charges will be filed.
