STOUGHTON, MA – A man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Stoughton on New Year’s Eve when he got out of his car to inspect damage caused by a previous accident.
According to WCVB, the incident happened on Route 24, near Exit 20, at about 11:30 p.m. 34-year-old Boston man Brandon Rose lost control of a 2020 Nissan Altima, collided with a guardrail and a 2020 Honda Accord, and then to a stop.
As Rose exited his vehicle following the initial accident, he was hit by a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
He died of injuries sustained during the crash.
A 25-year-old passenger in the Altima sustained minor injuries in the collision.
The driver of the Honda and the driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old Milton man, were unhurt.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
