DORCHESTER, MA – An off-duty Boston police officer was seriously injured early this morning when his vehicle collided with a firetruck. Four firefighters were also hospitalized with less severe injuries.
Local media reports that the crash happened at the intersection of Washington Street and Talbot Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The force of the collision sent the firetruck caroming into a Bank of America storefront.

We do not yet know which driver was at fault.
The firetruck may have been responding to a blaze at a pizzeria located at 1740 Dorchester Ave.
