ASHLAND, MA (MIDDLESEX COUNTY) – A 23-year-old woman suffered critical injuries when she crashed her car west of Newton this weekend, according to the Randolph Wicked Local.
The accident happened on Cordaville Road in Ashland just after 7 p.m. Saturday, when Raynham woman Jordan Gardner’s Toyota Corolla went off a curve in the road. She collided into a stone wall at a high rate of speed and was thrown about inside the vehicle.
Emergency crews used the jaws of life to free her from the wreckage, and transported her to the hospital with wounds described as “extremely serious.”
According to police sources, the victim was too injured to be interviewed at the scene.
Gardner was reportedly not wearing her seatbelt when the accident occurred.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Police have determined that distracted driving and speeding caused the accident, though their investigation into the collision continues.
