ARLINGTON, MA – A pedestrian walking across an Arlington street last week was seriously hurt when they were struck by a delivery van for a pastry company, according to the Arlington Wicked Local.
The accident happened at the intersection of Trowbridge St. and Massachusetts Ave. just before 8:45 p.m., as the pedestrian was walking through the crosswalk. The driver of a Watertown-based commercial vehicle attempted to brake before hitting the victim, but wet roads caused the vehicle to skid.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to the ICU with a serious head wound but is expected to survive the collision. The victim was reportedly wearing dark clothing when the accident happened.
The driver remained at the scene after the accident and has cooperated with the investigation.
Police do not believe that the driver was speeding or under the influence when the crash occurred.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
