NEWBURY, MA (ESSEX COUNTY) – The Danvers police chief was hurt in an off-duty motorcycle collision in Essex County this weekend, according to WHDH.

The crash happened in Newbury on Saturday afternoon when a 71-year-old man operating a Honda CRV made a left turn. The turn pulled the Honda into the pathway of a motorcycle ridden by 57-year-old Patrick Ambrose, the police chief of Danvers.

Ambrose was seriously hurt in the collision, though he is expected to recover.
