BOSTON, MA – A man who was seriously injured in a collision with a Fairhaven police vehicle died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on Thursday, where he had been taken for treatment.
According to NBC 10, Christian Lapaz-Dejesus was walking near a 7-Eleven off of Route 6 at about 11 p.m. last Tuesday, when the 32-year-old New Bedford resident was struck by a Fairhaven police cruiser. The officer at the wheel stopped the vehicle and called for emergency responders, who took the injured pedestrian to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Lapaz-Dejesus passed away there at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Bristol District Attorney’s Office. Investigations are ongoing.
