MARBLEHEAD, MA – A bicyclist was airlifted to a hospital in Boston with a head injury after being hit by a car near Salem this weekend, according to a report by the Salem News.
The accident happened near the intersection of Mohawk Road and Pleasant Street in Marblehead at about 4 p.m. Saturday, when a woman in her 30s was hit by a car as she was biking across the street.
The victim was unresponsive when she was flown to Brigham and Women’s Hospital for the treatment of wounds including a head injury. She has not yet been publicly identified.
No other injuries were reported in the collision.
Authorities closed the area for multiple hours in order to conduct their investigation.
