Logan International Airport is the largest transportation hub in New England, with service provided by more than 40 airlines. Suffolk County Superior Court is part of the Massachusetts Court System, which includes a Supreme Court, a Court of Appeals, and seven trial court departments. Each trial court department has specific responsibilities and jurisdictions.
Superior court is a court of general jurisdiction with original jurisdiction in civil lawsuits such as personal injury cases, car accident cases, and medical malpractice cases in which the amount at issue is more than $25,000. The court also has jurisdiction over more serious criminal matters.

Boston Municipal Court has eight court divisions, which are located in downtown Boston, Brighton, Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, Roxbury, South Boston and West Roxbury. Boston Municipal Court has 30 judges, and the court hears both criminal and civil matters, including various civil matters within the city of Boston and most of Suffolk County and criminal proceedings not bound over to a higher court.
